I recently installed Infinity seperates model 602's. The crossover can be mounted in the plastic secret compartment located farther back in the door which can be seen with the door skin off. I also wrap them in platic before mounting them as a extra barrier. I purcchased the speakers on EBAY foe less than half price and $80.00 less than Crutchfield!!!

I've always been partial to Infinity's in past vehicles (even have 4" Infinity's on my Honda Goldwing ). Glad that these can be installed in the doors, although I do appreciate Red9000's post regarding the tweeters positioning & leg blocking...

Here's an additional question or two...Can I install these as rears? At 5'7", I ain't the tallest guy on the block -- so there should be no issue of the seat being pushed all the way back, etc. I'm more interested in folks experience with the size of its magnet & woofer cone and its positional relationship with the S2K framing, etc.? Also, packing all this...behind a leather seat -- is it just a waste? Not sure if I've gathered correctly from Lucid's site that there is an *absolute* size that should not be exceeded on the rears...but if anyone has some width, depth rules for the rears, that would be appreciated too.

Bottom line, any advice/experience will be appreciated. BTW, I'm looking at these b/c through what seems a quite reputable Ebay seller, new in-the-box pairs are available for < $125 (incl. shipping)...which seems a good deal to me vs. sugg. retail.

Also, RED9000, I appreciate the advice on the OEM head unit replacement...that'd fall under the "one-thing-at-a-time" catagory .

The 602's utilize a 6.5" Mid-woofer and a seperate tweeter and crossover network.

i finally got the 63.3i's in and just like what s22k said, if you don't like cutting (or drilling in my case) u might wanna stay away from these. As you can see from the pics the speaker is a nice 3 way option for those who don't want components.

We actually tried to cut the basket but we ended up with the just the surface ring because it wouldn't even fit in the basket. The reason is because of the speakers basket around the magnet.

We ended up just drilling holes and mounting it straight to the door. The speakers are a lot crispier. I'm running about 60w into them and now my bass doesn't flush out the song. What helps even more is that my Sony unit has DSO(Dynamic Soundstage Organizer) to give it that "component" sound
