Hmmmmmmmmmmm...

No comments in two days. Either I talk too much or this forum is dead?

I'm thinking of going back to original wiring by entering the doors and just moving the clips around.

I've reread this entire thread this morning, and although there is some heat, there's quite a bit of light.

I think the Alpine head with its high pass filter settable for off or 80 hz or 120 hz or 160 hz takes care of filtering out the distorted high volume frequencies so you can listen loud without distortion at high speeds.

I think Goldtrom's wiring is another way of favoring the high frequencies and decreasing the low frequencies (by tweaking the fader) but the Alpine way is better because it still lets the woofer (really a midrange) do most of the sound production, just cutting the frequencies it is having trouble with.

I doubt the change from 20 gauge or whatever Honda wiring to 16 gauge wiring makes any difference at 27 watts rms over such a short run.

I still had fun with this.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Quite frankly Barry this thread has degenerated sufficiently to not warrant posting. Some of the subject matter is interesting and somewhat entertaining. As a policy maker in new aircraft high intensity radio frequency (HIRF) and electromagnetic resonance (EMR) testing I know more here then most. Unfortunately the personal attacks by persons here, with little or kno knowledge about anything, prohibit me from fully explaining radio frequency shielding and grounding.

Hope all is well with you in the other part of God's Country

Barry, Im glad you at least tried it. I said it was not much of a difference in both my original and later posts, but for virtually 0 cost any thing is good. I still like the bi-amp setup and believe with my head unit, it is the best that can be achieved without installing an amp.

And again car audio is highly subjective, specs really don't mean a whole lot. Your ears are all that matter...

Utah, I don't know why you feel that way. I'm going to assume you were talking about me due to your earlier posts (correct me if I'm wrong). I may have been on the defensive, but I never ment to stop people from posting, quite the opposite really. I don't ever agree with someone at first, even if I know I'm wrong. Just kinda a bad habit of mine. I like to hear peoples explanations for things (and sometimes nit pick them to death, another bad habit). But, if you are good at explaining and truely know what your talking about, I WILL LISTEN.

Anyways, I think we should stop posting to this thread, tiz kinda getting old. We need some new juicy topics .

Later folks, and thanks Barry for giving it a shot!

Even though I have an amp ready to install (Alpine MRV-T407), I'm not ready to get into that installation yet. I was hoping Goldtrom would do it and tell me how much it improves the sound from the xr600s.

I think I'm going to do more listening and less fiddling for a while. I am pretty satisfied with what I've got.

I decided to leave the setup as is: rear channel/16 gauge wire/woofer front channel/Honda wire/tweeter .

Thanks one and all.
