you dont need too.. just splice into the wires near the ECU(drivers side) or on the passenger side where the lower panel is.. I dont know the colors.. but take off the door panel and speaker, find out what colors they are and you can find them when you remove the panels. That'll save you alot of time and make the install alot easier

Thanks for the link to the post, I never thought of taking the rubber tubing out of the door!

Running amped power on the stock threads HONDA calls wire is a bad idea. Follow the instructions in that link. To help you out, to get through the door grommets, undo a metal hanger, vaseline or baby oil the crap out of the wires and the hanger. Slip the hanger through the grommet, tie the wire to one end, and YANK that bastard through. Makes it a lot easier than soapy water.

i have 12 guage wire to my door speakers

I didn't do like that guy above did..takeing out the gromets and all that. I took out the drive seat, laid my back on the floor, head under the pedals, and feet hanging over the roll hoops. got a coat hanger anda friend. taped 12 guage wire to the hanger, put hanger thru the grommetl by the ECU while a friendheld his hand around the rubber tube from the gromet to the door so the hanger wouldn't poke thru, then pushed the hanger through.

You can roll it up, just hold the interior door panel up and temporarily reconnect the connector to the window controls. Have someone turn the key (unless you have REALLY long arms) and you can raise the windows. The grommets are tight, but if you push from one side and pull from the other, they seat rather easily. It's not going to pop in at once, you need to start by tugging one direction to get one side in place, the work your way around from there.

The wire adapter for the windows won't reach the socket until I get the grommets through the hole :-/

Hmmm.....good point......kinda like the chicken or the egg....

Seriously, unless you have really oversized hands, it should still be possible to get everything back thru and in place. I did my entire install with the windows down (you can see the glass through the speaker holes in the first few pictures). As I recall, it's not so much about getting your whole hand through there, just using a few fingers to help guide it.

At what point are you stuck? Entire grommet outside the car? Grommet between door and car? One end back in place?

Getting the grommet back to being between the car and the door was the biggest trick for me. Once that was done, it was reasonably easy to seat the ends of the grommet on the holes.
