yup, i understand that. that would definitely be a nice touch. i'm not crazy about lots of neon myself, but some discreet lighting in there could be a bonus as well...

Very helpful for those of us who have not run wires to the extent you have. I am a diver and we use a harmless to anything spray silicon to condition the rubber, etc from salt water - this is what I used to lubercate the wire going through grommet when I recently installed my 9815 and was shocked at the difference it makes - just spray some on your hand and wipe along wire - for those who shy away from introucing H2O inside. The spray is also good for other things and available at almost every dive shop in your area.

Can someone make this thread a note? It's a great writeup for anyone installing a new system.

so, am I to assume you did not change the oem speaker wire to the doors, and they are amped - everyone is telling me to run thicker wires - I don't want to but will if....

I didn't change the wire. With the noise level in our cars I personally don't think that it is necessary. I am installing a set of MB Quarts in the doors next and I will not run new wires. I am an audiofile when it comes to home systems and have spent upwards of $1000.00 on a pair of 6 foot wires before. In great home systems they make a big difference. However, new wires in the car would be better but with the noise level of our cars I don't think its worth it. Thats my personal opinion.

and the power losses from the very short run is pretty minimal... i ran 14 ga from my amp to the S2000 harness, then spliced into factory wiring for the last 6 feet or so... no regrets.

How come you ran the power cables through the center instead of along the passenger door?

Thanks, Gary

"I ran the power wire along the passenger side into the trunk."
