S-Pod Info (Consolidated Information)
Mark.... I'm a Sacramento area local and have begun to play with stereo upgrades. I have a MY2000 with 01 HU. I added the Lucid Kenwood Excelon X178 in the doors and enjoy the improvement, but it still isn't "there". I'm a stock appearance guy and am interested in your S-Pods. I'm not sure they will add what I'm looking for...bottom end.....but thought I'd ask. We roadtrip quite a bit and trunk space is a premium, so a sub is probably out.. I'm thinking to amp the doors as the next level of attack, but then I saw this thread and thought maybe the S-Pods might help...what do you think ??
My personal opinion is that they help the bottom end, with no other upgrades. I was pleasantly surprised by just how much bass was added by 5 1/4 speakers. The fact that they are enclosed inside the rollbars, and that I use Dynamat to line the enclosure seems to be the reason. A mini bass box.
Stereo upgrades are very subjective. These are a giant step up from stock, but can't compare to what you get from an amp & sub in the trunk.
I'd be happy to let you sample mine sometime if you like. Just let me know.
Thanks,

Special pricing is ending soon!
I'm currently finishing up several sets of S-Pods in preparation for Sac2k days. The price will be $240 at the show, and $240+tax+shipping after the show. I think this is very reasonable considering that Rick's Accessories sells headrests for this price, and they use half as much leather, none of the other materials involved, & about 1/10th the labor.
What do you guys/gals think?
