SPODS are an aftermarket item that allows you to mount 5 1/4" speakers in the roll-hoops.

Honda sells "headrest speakers" as an accessory. They are twin tweeters mounted to the back of the seats.

I'm finally considering getting S-Pods. I only have one question. Can I get a quality speaker cloth instead of leather for the front grill? I've seen an imitation version on ebay that does this, even though the overall craftmanship looks shoddy.

I simply can not be convinced that covering a speaker with even heavily preforated leather doesn't smother and effect the sound quality to some degree, or we would have seen home speakers with leather grills at some point. Leather is just not transparent enough.

Leather is the only material available because it matches the car, not because it's accoustically transparent. Yes, it does reduce the volume some...but the speakers are so close to your head more than enough volume is available. If you would like to order a kit with un-covered speaker grilles and cover them yourself; we can work something out.
