word, just finished installing my dvd/navi head unit, rear view camera, ipod input, amp, sub, component speakers, and crossovers. good amount of work, lots of wiring. it was easier to just take most of the interior out to install everything so that's what I did started monday and finished tuesday. I put the amp where the spare tire was, got a couple little things left to do there then I'll post another pict of the amp. here's all the currently installed goodies...

JVC NX5000 dvd / navi HU, I love this thing! fits pretty well, without the faceplate on the cover will close without mods. I've got a fix I'm working on to close the door and keep the faceplate on that I'll post when it's done.
JVC aux input adapter
Modifry dash control thingy with the speed control, loving that thing! no more playing with the volume like crazy when I'm driving around.
JL 10W6V2 sub
Remote sub volume knob
JL 4-channel amp
MB Quart 6.5" component set
Kenwood color backup camera. HU auto swtiches to this when I go into reverse, I can also manually switch to the camera.
White LED footwell lights, they come on and off with the dome lights and the doors opening or unlocking the doors. got tired of passengers kicking stuff getting into and out of the car
Hardwired V1
Hardwired ipod/iphone charger next to the HU's aux input. now I can play streamed music sources like Pandora or my ipod. switching songs / artists from the ipod itself is 10 times faster than with the HU anyway.
that's it (I think) for now

Do any of you have problems closing the cover with your aftermarket headunits?

Crutchfield couldn't answer that question for me when I was about ready to pick out a stereo and its been keeping me from picking up anything so far.

it will help if you let us know what stereo you are looking at. chances are somebody on this site has seen it installed.
