There are 4 speakers on the '00 model. 2 in the doors and 2 in the footwells to the right of the drivers seat and the left of the passengers seat.

Acutally, that's not true. There are indeed only two speakers in an '00 S2000. Both are in the grilled portion of the door, down near the knees. If your car has speakers where you say, it must be the result of an aftermarket install.

same on the 04.. and probably the rest. But they're both in the front, so yes there are only front speakers. You can get the headrest speakers if you really want tho.

All s2000 come with only 2 speakers. They are normally 5.25" speakers in the door towards the bottom. There is also a tweeter mounted on the top of each door.

If you want rear speakers you have three option (as far as i know):
1. www.lucidautomotive.com
These are the lucid rear speakers that replace the back panels behind the seat.
2. S-Pods. Not sure of the site but they install into the headrest of the seat.
3. '04 Headrest speaker system. Also goes into the headrest...obviously.

I personally have the lucid rear panels and they work great for me.

just to clarify -

Earlier s2000s had two speakers. I'm not sure which year, I think 02, they had 4 speakers. Two near your feet, and two tweeters

I'm moving this to the electronics forum where you guys can learn exactly how many speakers are in your cars...

00-01 = 2 speakers in the lower half of the doors
02-04 = 4 speakers, 2 on each door (1 tweeter and 1 woofer)

You can add a set of stock headrest speakers to the 04's and 05's but the wiring is not there for the earlier models. However you can add speakers to your car

Ask around in the electronics forum for some help, you'll get accurate info from people that mess with this stuff on a daily basis
