Default s2000 secret compartment sub

heres my idea ive been working on the past few months. im able 2 place a subwoofer unit in the secret compartment of our S's. its a 6.5 inch kicker slim sub and when the bass is on it hits hard. ive had unit in trunk before and i felt it in drivers seat/cabin. with request im able 2 produce and sell but unfortunately they would be built to order. units come with 3 sq ft of sound deadening. whether you use the material or not is up to you but it is recommended. only downfall is that you lose your secret compartment and the trim that goes across in the console has to be removed/trimmed. no sub in trunk so trunk is open for everything and anything. in last picture you lose number 14. thank you for looking and posting your opinions on poll. here are the pics, process to finish.

great spot for a sub, i have the mugen roll cage trim so i don't have the lid, but over this winter i plan on glassing something up and dropping in a JL 8" under the mugen trim for a stealth look.

Came out good OP, the only thing i would suggest is to cover up the enclosure baffle with carpet over the fatmat for a clean appearance. I have plenty of smaller scraps of carpet that i cannot use for the enclosures i make but could send you. lmk

It's a good idea, but I voted no because I consider the secret compartment is too much of a valuable asset! I am considering the passenger footwell option though.

I like it, but I just put a 10" square sub in the truck tool compartment area. Sounds great

Im running a Mugen roll bar with garnish piece too. So its not a problem to hack further, but Im afraid of the rattle it might do to the garnish piece & other plastics along with the extra weight.

I just don't see the benefit to putting a sub in this spot. I see 2 options.

1) You leave the secret compartment door open and completely obstruct your view.

2) You close the secret compartment door, hear nothing but rattles and a muffled sub.

That just seems like poor placement for a sub anyways, being that it is so high and right behind your ear. I went with the footwell sub that 2big4as2000 sells and think it is the perfect option for our cars.

working on a drop-in cover piece for showing it better. extra weight is 5-6 lbs for complete unit with sub.

in the beginning i had cover open but i figured out idea for bass to pass thru with lid down. sounds great and no rattles cause lid closes tighter, so u have to really close for it to close. if bass is 2 much then u can always adjust 2 different music. id like 2 hear this footwell sub that takes up passenger room. thats not a bad idea also but mine is another.
thank u all for the input. keep em coming. any questions let me know.
