I looked all through the posts, but couldn't find this answer... Has anybody tried to use or upgrade the optional headreast speakers? I'd like a new HU and door speakers, but thinking about keeping these as the rear channel and filtering out the bass... Any ideas?

 

modifry has a kit. he documented some of his challenges there. there are also kits that let you throw a 5 1/4" or something like that back there, s-pods?

the problem is that the sound coming from the rear has a tendency to cancel some of the sound coming from the front, so it generally will sound poorer than if the speakers are not there at all in terms of imaging and frequency response flatness.

mine are disconnected and i like it that way. i can just switch them on to the headunit power with the tweeter crossover points, but it's better without. (i have a 100w x4 amp on a front component set, so it doesn't lack volume)

 

I was looking for some special brackets someone sold that make installing new speakers in the door very easy and clean, does anyone know where to find them?
