Will it get just as good reseption on the dash or will it be to staticky
I've been told that the signal will go through glass, plastic, and fabric just fine. It is metal that is an issue.
I have mine mounted on the top of the windshield.
The one I have is magnetic and sticks to the metal
frame the windshield is in. Also it is about the size
of a Silver Dollar and about 1/2 inch tall.
I have the wire tucked under the dash and up the A
pillar and across the top rubber trim, and then I just
laid my antenna on top of the window frame, and I
have about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch of wire showing.
The top does not pinch on the wire at all when closed.

you will have no issue with having the antenna by a window like the front windscreen. ive personally ridden in at least 3 cars with the antenna in a window inside the car. there is no issue with noise what so ever.
