First off - yes I did a search

I see that a lot of people put the antenna in the "secret compartment" but do they drive around with it open all the time? Am I missing something? If I don't it it there is there a way to get the antenna wire from the trunk area past the softtop and into the passenger cabin? Any pics or advice would be appreciated.

I actually mounted the receiver under the dash next to the ecu. I have the antennae on the dash near the right A pillar. I have problems with reception.. I think I'm gonna move it to the center of the dash.

I do have sirius and it great until the antennae loses signal

 

Maybe the dash is the answer - it just isnt the best looking place to install the antenna. I had it on the trunk lid of my old car, but there wasn't a softtop between my trunk and cabin.

 

I installed mine right behind the wind screen. It's not totally hidden, but it doesn't look that bad. Seems to work really well top up or down.

 

one of the greatest things about this car is the ease of working on it. I have my sirius unit mounted under the seat and the antenna run through the wire channel under the carpet... behind the seat is a panel that comes off with 2 screw... remove it and you will have access into the trunk, run your antenna over the spare tire and route the wire to the trunk edge.
