CD changers must play through something so it must be connected to your head unit (radio). The CD changer itself has no amplifier, no speaker leads, no volume or tone controls.
There have been threads describing the location of a CD changer in the secret compartment and under the driver's seat (secured to the seat NOT the floor) but I don't think it was NOT the Honda one. I think it's too big. Someone took out the tool kit under the trunk cover, put all the tools in a bag, put the bag in with the spare tire then mounted the CD changer where the tool kit used to be and put the cover back over top of it. I have a Sony 10 disc changer mounted in the trunk on the left shelf.

I bought the OEM changer but must admit to only having it in the car for about 3 weeks. The problem was more the lack of power in the stock headunit than the changer though.

The OEM changer should fit under the drivers seat (I know of people with other Alpine changers there) but be aware that it doesn't come with any mounting brackets to do so.

Why a CD changer.??
I'd get an mp3 player if I were you.

6CD changer = +/- $400 + loss of already small space. = Max benefit 6x15 = 90 songs.
Mp3 CD player = tops $400 keep your space to a minimum and each CD will give you about 100+ tracks.
