Default Side mirrors won't go up or down! (left-right ok)

I'm not sure what I did, but after uninstalling my stereo, SCV and shift beeper, my power side mirrors no longer tilt up or down. They are going from left to right just fine. Any suggestions? I've checked the wires which go to the switch and they look fine.

I'm leaving on a road trip on Wednesday, so this is a little scary as they're not in the right position.

did you open the door panel when you did the uninstall?
when you checked the wiring to the switch, did you unplug the connector
and look at both sides to make sure no pins were bent/dislocated?

You can always just push the mirror into position if you don't get it fixed before the trip.

Thanks - pushing the mirror works fine. I also checked the pins - they look good.

I'm really stumped on this. Perhaps I just have a bad switch, but it seems odd that neither the up/down positions work. I recently had the mirrors painted. I wonder if they didn't reconnect a wire properly inside the mirror itself, although I'd be surprised if they disassembled the inside of the mirror.

Its not that hard to take them apart if they are off the car.
