/sigh..blew an infinity speaker

Default /sigh..blew an infinity speaker

Yup... it was pulling out of its cone nearest the magnet..hence a 'pop' on harsh bass. I superglued it back in-- temporarly using stock '02 speaker on left side... I 'think' this fix will work (I mean, the factory GLUED it inplace, why the hell can't I??). Opinions?

I an unsure what you mean, the surround separated from the basket? If so yes, just glue it back on. When you get the "pop", the speaker is being driven too hard. You are exceeding the maximum travel that the speaker can handle and stressing the surround, hence, it separated. Glue will do just fine. Where there may be damage though is the voice coil. If you push it too hard the voice coil will move outside the of magnetic field of the speaker then not be controlled, when it comes back down, it could scratch against it . Hopefully you are okay .

The cone came out of the voice coil... I glued it back in..

Sorry still not following you because the voice coil is inside the speaker. Do you mean the voice coil cap came off of the cone?
