Default 2002 speaker question - need help

I'm in the process of installing new speakers in my 2002 and was wondering if anyone knew the proper way to install seperates. I noticed once I had the door panel off, that both the mid bass and tweeter have an output connection. My question is ... when using a crossover, do you only connect the factory output from the mid bass to the crossover "input" or do you also connect the tweeter output as well - meaning do I run wires from both the mid bass and tweeter to the crosover "input", Or only run a wire from the mid bass output to the crossover "input" Hopefully this makes since .... need some advice.

Thanks for any help!

Why use the crossover? If you connected both tweeter and woofer wires to the input all the crossover does is split the signal back to low and high. I'm not a stereo person, but using the crossover doesn't make sense to me...

DO NOT do this, you will basically be putting the speakers in parallel and the tweeter will not be protected, you WILL blow it.

Connect the wires from the H/U to the xover input. Run the xover outputs to the appropriate speakers...i.e. mid bass out to mid bass speaker, tweeter out to tweeter. Here is a quick pic.

Take care to ensure you get the polarities the same.

Hope this helps.

Matrix,
Thanks for the help I went ahead and connected as you described ... sound isn't to bad, but only currently using the stock head unit for power ... Amp will be next weekends project.

One option the crossover has is an output for "rear fill" not sure if I use this or not, but I thought it was a neat feature ... maybe this is standard now, I have been out of car audio for sometime now.

Anyways, thanks again for the info.
