Default Sirius on oem factory headunit

I'm looking for sirius on a factory headunit. I know that there is a tuner for XM but I already have two sirius radio and a additional one will be with a discount from sirius. So I've been searching in the internet and here is why I have found:

I would need a modern XM AP2 compatibility radio (Mine is a 2001). A Honda SIRIUS Connect Interface HON-SC1 and SIRIUS Connect Vehicle Tuner SCC1 like this link below

Does anyone have tried?

Haven't tried it but don't see why it won't work (if that product works like it says). IMHO the 07+ (not sure if 06 is the same) head unit isn't bad at all so you'll want one of those. I only changed mine so I could play MP3s. I think my stock 08 head unit was louder than the Kenwood KDC-X994 I recently installed and its rated at 22 watts RMS 50 watts peak. Hopefully your 01 has the CD/XM cable running from the head unit to trunk already.

I don't think so. Since sirius or XM wasn't on the loop in 00 and 01. didn't know that the 07+ plays mp3 that's good also.

The 07+ head unit does NOT play MP3s. I meant I changed my stock 08 head unit for a Kenwood so I could play MP3s. The XM radio uses the same cable as the CD changer in the trunk, so if your car is wired for a trunk CD changer - it probably is - you should be good to go. If not, you can probably plug that Sirius tuner adapter directly into the head unit. Looks like the kit has the necessary male and female connectors - the connection in the trunk is male the connection on the head unit is female.

I have installed one of these in a CR and it works great. The main differences between the XM compatible radios is the text functionality. I believe the 06-07 models only display a limited number of characters (10, I think), but the 08-09 radios will do more (16, I think) which enables the text to scroll. Either way, you have to have at least an 06+ (XM compatible) radio in order for this to work properly.
