Default Someone Please Help...Problem with JL amp

I dont know what happend but I went to move my amp in my trunk and I had to move my ground wire. I disconected it and went to reconect it and i got a little spark. So now if i connect my ground my power light comes but my radio is off..... So just to see if it is the remote wire i disconected it and the power light stayed on. So this is not my remote wire. Is there any way that something inside my 3 mounth old amp shorted out?????

So right now all I have is power and ground hooked up to the amp and the light on the amp is on. It is raining out right now so it may have got a drop of water on the terminals that is all I can think of

Any help would be great.......I so stressed out right now

Does the amp still work properly other than the light being on when radio is off?
Do you have a cap installed? If so the light will stay on after you turn off your radio until voltage bleeds down below shut off voltage, but will eventually turn off. This freaked me out when I first saw it on mine then I figured it out. Hope this helps.

Relax bro......you cannot damage an amp this way (a good amp anyway) They have fuses for that.

Where did you see the spark? Where you grounded it right? Thats normal.

Check to see if your amp turns on and musid plays and repost. And calm down, have a smoke, your amp is fine.

If it makes you feel any better, I once by mistake reversed power and ground, and the sound blowing fuses made scared the piss out of me.

Well i figured it out.....No I dont have a cap but I conected the ground and left it there. Then like a minute later the light shut off. I think the amp will do it every time you hook it up. It just freaked me out. Alls i wanted to do was move the amp and i thought it was going to turn into a nightmare!!!!
Thanks a lot for the quick response NFRs2000NYC and ronnuke!!!!!!!!!
