I just got a new civic (thanks to pierceman) and was wondering what I should get for a very low budget head unit due to my civic's lack of a cd player.

I want the HU to be under $150 new and/or under $100 used. I need something that will nicely complement the civic's stock speakers because I do not intend to change anything. I also want to make sure the HU is durable and not prone to breaking down. Of course it has to have CD player and radio capabilities.

I was even considering using my stock s2k HU and getting a better higher end HU for the S, has anyone had experience in doing this? Or using the stock s2k HU with any other car?

I am looking for one for my 03 civic. Seach Ebay for the Sony mp40 or sony mp-40. I think you can get one of these for well under $150 and it reads mp3's. I am probably going to spend a little more for a nice Alpine.

 

Does anyone know if I can get an oem honda cd changer to add onto the non-cd player civic head unit to have it play cds?
