Sony CDX-GT510 w/Modifry DCI
Thought I had the whole OEM HU replacement thing solved! Well, I think I'm close anyway. The Modifry DCI is a great piece! I'm having trouble, however, mating it with the Sony HU my wife got me for X-Mas. The Modifry Sony Wired DCI and Sony's CDX-GT510 HU aren't getting along. After about an hour, the HU resets back to its factory settings. Remove the DCI and no problem. Any ideas as to why or maybe how I can work around this problem with the Sony unit?
BTW, I also have a factory fresh Pioneer DEH-P5800MP HU on standby, just in case I can't overcome the issue with the CDX-GT510 and while the dash is disassembled. The Sony sounds absolutely great thru JL Audio seperates, very easy to use, and all of the dash controls otherwise work just as described in the DCI installation manual. I sure hate to give this combo up but it appears that I'm gonna have to utilize the local electronic store's return policy for the Sony, unless there's a fix you guys know.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions as to a cure for the reset problem.

Well, turns out I may have a bad Sony HU or maybe even a bad factory provided plug to the HU; thanks for the reply Bob (Modifry guru). The Sony HU is going back! The DCI's installation instruction are so clear that it's hard to imagine me (of all people...) making a wiring mistake with such easy to follow instructions. Installed the DCI with the Pioneer, no problem. Remember, a Sony wired DCI also serves Pioneer HU applications. I'll be in line with the rest of the folks the day after X-Mas returning the Sony, then the Pioneer, and purchasing another Sony unit I'm sure.
Either brand of HU I end up, the Modifry DCI is staying put.
Thanks for the support Bob.
