Sony "Wired" DCI

Sony "Wired" DCI
Just picked up my s2k from North Carolina.
I am thinking about getting this radio (Sony CDX-5710)
Specs
It is compatible with the WIRED RMX4S remote, a pre-requisite for the WIRED DCI at the marketplace.
Does anyone have this? and is there any lag that I read about for the IR ones?
I really love the dash controls of the radio but i would like to personalize my audio.
thanks!

And if i choose not to use the dci and get a new radio, what have others done to re-use the space of the controller module area in the dash? Maybe stealth radar install?

I have a Sony HU and purchased the DCI with the wired connection. It works flawlessly without any perceptible delay. I think you'll also appreciate the added functionality that it offers over the OEM controls.
As far as the iPod (mini or other), ther is no aux input on the OEM radio. I believe you can purchase an aftermarket adapter (PCI?) to give you an aux input, but of course this would not let you control the iPod, just get the audio in. (Obviously if you don't care about sound quality, you could make do with a FM modulator.)

I am gonna go without Dash controls for a while. Using the $funds for a amp to power the stealth sub from WLAURENT.
And i really like the sony cdx-F5710 radio. Nice big display and larger buttons. I cant stand tiny radio buttons like those on my last Alpine 9831. And I also wanted a non-motorized head unit; those thing break fast like bmw's.

My motorized Sony has worked great for me for 2 years now. (Granted I don't use it THAT often.
I also have a sub in a WLAURENT enclosure (among a few other goodies.)
I think you will be happy.
