looking for a reasonably priced amp to power some focal kp 6.5's i just picked up and stumbled upon the Soundstream TRA960.4 amp. price seems to be quite reasonable but i havent been in the car audio market for some time so just curious how sound quality measures up nowdays. is it a good way to go or are there other better and similarly priced options out there?

 

The older model tarantulas were some of the best and some of the most expensive amplifiers you can buy. I have never used the new ones, nor do I have any experiences with them, so I cant really comment. I have had A LOT of experience with the old ones, and have nothing but the highest praise for them.

 

yeah i know the older model soundsteam line was a great product from my last system build up i did (approx. 7 years ago). i had a 94 trans am that i did full boston pro series with PPI power but spent a lot of time researching numerous brands and found soundstream to be a great company. i'm just looking for reassurance that they haven't gone the way of cheaper and more while sacrificing major quality.

 

As far as I know, they didnt get cheapified. However, I cannot personnaly guarantee so. I do trust them as a company however, and their customer service is great.

If you arent too sure of soundstream, Alphasonik makes great products as well, and customer service is top notch.
