To clairify, i previously had polk components (not amped) which were mounted in the stock baskets which produced a decent amount bass for components. Now after i have installed the Boston Pro 6.5 components(amped), i have seemed to have a significant amount of bass. I have not yet installed the baffles, but you guys say i will loose more with the baffles installed?

yes, if left intact; uncut. If cut, about the same as you had before installing the baskets.

ok much more clear. Does your amp have a crossover?

Out of phase means they reversed wiring on one speaker compared to the other. The + and - leads are reversed on one of the speakers. This is a well known cause of bass loss.

Try it. Matrix might be right. Installers could have screwed this up, but they shouldn't.

Matrix could be right...

if you had a major droppoff of bass from one speaker to the next, that would be my first thought.

second thought would be - what's the efficiency change between them... a much less efficient speaker (>4dB/W/m) would be harder to drive for the HU and would result in a major dropoff in bass.
