Speaker install
Hi,
I'm looking at putting some Infinity Kappa 60.9cs's in my '03, but Crutchfield tells me they stick out 0.10" too far and I'll need to trim the back of the speaker grill to make them fit. Has anyone installed these or have any experience trimming the back of the speaker grills? I'm looking for some nice components but I'd like to avoid any extensive modifications. I'm currently running an Alpine CDA-105 and will probably install an amp sometime in the future...
thanks....

Also, if you do use a MDF ring for a spacer, Paint it so it wont expand should it get wet...
Use the 3/4" thick not the 1/2" thick.
I got a scrap piece of MDF just big enough for two spacers at lowes. Go to the wood section, look for the saw and see if they ahve any scraps. The dude just gave it to me free of charge. They also have 4'x 4' pieces if they dont have scraps.

actually, it's not the depth of the speaker, as I understand it, it's the height from the mounting ring out, towards the door panel. Does anyone know how much space there is between the panel and the speaker mounting bracket?
