I fitted my new Rockfords and they seem to be playing up.

They cut out time to time and come back to life with a whack of the door card.

As far as I am aware all connections are tight.

Any clues what it could be ?

 

The only thing I could think of is a loose connection somewhere. I would double check just to be sure.

 

if all your connections are tight, make sure the speaker connections and/or speaker wire isn't grounding out on the chassis or door anywhere.

 

Loose connection, amp power surge, or loose amp connection to the battery under the hood

 

Speaker terminals might be hitting the door skin or window might be hitting it on the way down. do you have speaker spacers?

 

Maybe its a defective speaker. The voice coil might be torn and when it bumps or rattels it can disonnect or have a loose end. If all the connections are correct you should deffinatly check the speakers it self
