i just unsucessfully attempted to install my new components. i trimmed my factory baskets as well, but have the same problem squeezer had (the diameter of the metal frame is too large for the inner diameter of the factory basket). any more trimming, and the basket may be useless.

anyhow, my one day off is almost over, so i got lazy and just ordered lucid's kit. modifry dci arrives tomorrow. i guess i will finish my install in two weeks when i finally have a day off.

squeezer, i understand what you are describing about the metal frame diameter.

[QUOTE=Squeezer,Mar 11 2005, 09:19 PM] its not that magnet that is the problem, its the angle of the metal that goes from the surrount to the magnet base.

Once again you have no idea what the heck your doing. Next time hire someone to do your work for you.
the metal speaker frame of the JL speaker is too large to fit into the stock speaker plastic hole frame even with the basket cut. it is too wide. they fit with lucid's adapters. i'd take a picture to prove you wrong, but I threw away the stock plastic speaker hole frame a long time ago. but i mean, how would you know this, since you've never installed that model of speakers into an s2k before. get your head out of your ass. just because every 6.5" speaker brand you've installed has fit, doesn't mean every 6.5" brand in the universe will fit.

Fine you know what... you must be right because your such an expert.
Keep in mind I really dont care what you think. Try and prove me wrong all you want. I've installed plenty of speakers into many S2K's and believe me I can make them fit.

But you go ahead and post your pictures but its not going to change the fact your wrong. But you go ahead and post them just the same. I really don't care as I'm not wasting anymore time with this stupidity.

And since you and I have taken this person poor thread and trashed it I'm going to close this one, but feel free to start a new thread or PM me the pictures telling everyone how wrong I am.
