I can speak for the Dynaudio 3-ways and say that in a well contained environment they sound fabulous. They give the fill that you would expect from a very high quality 3 way car stereo speaker.

You have left out some really major information in this post though. You're being critical of the MB quarts without letting us know how you are powering them or what your audio source is... It's difficult to judge if you are truely running your quarts properly without this information. These speaker will sound harsh if improperly powered.

If your signal is sufficent the Dynaudios are great speakers that I wouldnt hesitate to run in a large sedan which is capable of forming a decent sound stage. In the S2000 even if your powering your speakers properly establishing a sound stage that will allow the speakers to perform at their ideal level is very unlikely.

I would almost be more motivated to put speakers like the dynaudios in my maxima before I put them in the S where I coldnt fully experience them.

2004 stereo sound suck, sure it does, i found some extra power and output, free...the stereo works on two channels for the 4 speakers it uses, you have two more channels of power output on your factory oem unit..just fool around with the balance front to rear, there is no rear!

i just installed some rear speakers and now i have a real stereo instead of one that sounds like it belongs in a 1992 hyndai. of course if you know all of this then getting more and better speakers is probably the next step, just wanted to pass this revelation made by a fellow 2004 owner.

I have the CDT HD62-EF's in mine with "Image Enhancing" tweeters installed in my "A" pillars. Although I haven't got my system fully tuned yet they are warm midbass and smooth with bright but not too harsh highs. I have them highpassed before the crossovers from the amp at 100HZ and above. I am thoroughly satisfied with my CDT's. HTH
