Default stereo died

I bought a new pioneer hu when i got the car. The car already had aftermarket speakers tweeters and an infinity 7520a amp. Everything worked fine after i put in the new HU except the tweeters didn't work but that wasnt really a big deal to me.

Last Saturday the hu was loosing power and shutting off after i hit a bump then it went out completely. I checked the amp and the ground wire had come loose i tightened it up and all was fine. Monday the same thing started happening but the ground wire is secure and i cant find any other problem. I checked the cable going to the battery and the amp but i cant seem to figure out whats wrong... Currently the hu will not get any power what so ever..

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated

Have you checked the wires going to the HU? Also check that the plug is snug in the back of the HU.

If you hooked the HU up with a harness that mates to the oem plug, then you'll want to check the fuses under the dash. The one to check is the accessory #9 10 AMP fuse that seems to pop for a lot of people.

The quick way to test this is to plug something in the lighter/Acc socket.

Also your HU may have fuses too.

i just checked them.. the main conection was not loose but i fiddled with the wires and it started working agin.. but if it gets bumped a little it stops and i have to touch them agin..

could it be a bad wiring harness?

How were the wires put together?

Personally, solder and shrink wrap is the only way to go.
