Ok, so the other day I bought a new Alpine deck and I also bought a harness. I've installed all my decks in the past before since the age of 16, which includes regular decks, dvd/navigation decks and they all went fine. Which tells you I know what I'm doing. Well the other day, matching up all the wires, I pluged the harness into the car, the deck turns on and it was working fine listened to music and everything, as I go to push the deck into the back a little bit more, it get stuck, so I decided to push on it a little bit harder, next thing you know the deck turns off. Now...i thought one of the wires fell off so I took the harness off to check the connections everything was fine, plugged it back in, it still doesn't work. So the next day I went out to best buy to purchase another wiring harness. Matched up all the wires again and plugged it in, the deck still doesn't turn on. So at that point I thought I broke my deck and went out to purchase another deck, connected the harness and plugged it back in, still doesn't work. Does anyone know what happened? The deck turned on and i was listing to music for a good 30 mins before i tried to force it in. Please help...

 

Its the wiring somewhere. Did you check the ground? Which Alpine HU did you install? How did you wire it... as in what type of connector/'s did you use?

 

Check the antenna wire. Alpines wont turn on without the antenna wire being in properly. This is most probably your case.

 

maybe you blew a fuse while trying to push it back in
