Default stereo removal

so i have decided to install rear speakers and the previous owner had already installed an aftermarket head unit. so i removed the head unit door and removed the 2 screws that i thought were holding the head unit it...now i cant get the head unit out for the life of me. it feels like its still being held in place by the little metal jacket that comes with the head units...is there any wayi can get to the back without having to remove my whole entire dash?

It's probably wedged in, you will probably have to pry at it a little. There's no good way to get to the back of the stereo unless you're gumby or Mr. Fantastic.

Most head units have a locking mechanism on the side of them that locks into the sleeve. Do some searches on the brand of head unit you have to see if you can see if there are removal tools available.
