i went to car stero for some help on deciding what kind of sub to put in the back of my s2000 the sales person told me that JL had a ten inch sub that would fit and that was the biggest i could fit in the trunk with out having it made. is this true?

 

Yes and no. JL does make a 10" box that fits into the well. You can also get enclosures from Lucid and WLAURENT.
