Default stock 01 radio output?

How many watts is the stock 01 radio output? I have a set of component speakers laying around but they want 100 watts rms....and im afriad they wont sound good because they'll be under powered.

I think it's only about 10 to 15 watts per side.
ps. You don't need 100 watts to power a 100 watt speaker. However, you shouldn't try to run a 10 watt speaker with a 100 watt stereo.

Yes, they will. Of course, they'd sound even better if you push more power through them. I've got high power 4-way speakers in my door, powered by my stock '00 stereo. I have no issues with them and along with the rear panel speakers (which are the original stock door speakers), I have found no need to upgrade to a "better" HU. This is just "me". Your tastes and expectations may be different.

well i actually think the stock system is good enough for me. I jus want to be able to hear the highs and mids a little better and I think the components will help

it doesnt matter what the power handling of the (new) speakers are; what matters is their sensitivity

Ugh I hate mids. That's all the stock system is good for too. I'm a bass player and my equalizer looks like a U because I have the mids totally off. I do the same thing in my headunit. Midrange makes things sound like an alarm clock radio.
