Thanks oth, so im running the rear speaker wires straight into the amp? and sub is speaker output?

I thought what "DBXFX" was telling me was to plug my front speaker wires and rear speaker wires straight into the amp and back out again...

I have a 2000 model with no rear speakers, but im assuming the harness has the rears just sitting there.

Steath, i have no money to take it to a shop, if i did, i would upgrade my HU/amp/and sub. Id rather not run the stock HU but im kind of on budget right now, and i have about 5 subs and this amp sitting in my garage and i want to hook it up.

what i meant was that on one side of your amp, you have speaker (high level) inputs. those are powered by the hu from the speaker wires in the back of the headunit. and the "speaker output" goes to whatever speakers you are driving. i didnt know you were pluggin a sub into this same amp and if you are running 2 rear speaker and a sub, you wont have enough outputs.

but if you are just running a sub, plug in a speaker output from the back of the hu to the speaker input on the amp. that will give it the audio signal.

then, plug you sub(s) into the speaker output labeled on the amp. this is the connecting from amp to sub.

then make sure your amp has power, ground, remote, and a lpf for the sub to get rid of the high frequencies from the high level signal.

sorry for any confusion i gave you.

Thanks,

The amp is basically just for 1 sub. I plan to use only the 2 front speakers and 1 sub, but whats an LPF?

didnt read the whole thread, but if it wasn't said, just purchase High Low Converters, you will need one per channel. Works great and run abour $15 each.

well, now that i figured out my amp doesnt need a converter, youre telling me to get one for each channel?

and IF i were to buy one for any future setups, what converter would you recommend

What you really need to do ....seriously...is post into your regional specific forum...make some friends and get to a tech day.

It looks like you are in SOCAL....probably the greatest concentration of S2000s in the USA.

You could also start by reviewing and understanding the owners manual that came with your AMP....it should have complete wiring instructions.

ill keep that in mind for the future, but for now, i just want to drop in a sub.

the amp i got was from a friend, never purchased. i would not buy this kind of amp. ive installed a few audio systems awhile back but i used harnesses and everything was plug and play.

but with the s2k, i want to use the stock HU, and as i assumed, i would have to splice into the wires, and all i wanted was some comfirmation from the electronics specialist on this forum.

Thanks, so converters are mainly for stock HU's? and this goes with every other car i assume, unless i pick up an aftermarket HU.
