Default stock radio problem...

I dont know if somebody can help me out here. I just cleaned my stock radio with a CD cleaner that you add some solution on one of the brushes. Three days later, my stock CD player is showing this sign: " E - 00 ". Then the player just spits out the CD. In rear occasions, it plays. I tried all types of CDs. The recordable and the regular that you buy from the stores.

I dont want to change the stock player only because I want the controls on the left side to work and not to spend too much money on the car.

Can anybody help me out on this one?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

That happened out of no-where on my 97 Integra GS-R and also on my friends MY00 S2k. I think the code means the laser reader is dirty but I have a feeling it's just a faulty radio problem.

You can use the dash controls on aftermarket radio's if they are compatible with the dash control adapter things. My friend has the inferred one that works with his eclipse headunit, only drawback is the radio door has to be open for it to work. I believe there is also a hard-wire one but not 100% sure.

only the sony is hard wired (as far as I know). Sonys have a 3.5mm minijack for a wired remote and Modifry's DCI plugs into that.

all of the other dash controllers I've seen are IR based.

Yes, since all the remotes for those units are IR based, the DCI is too. I don't see why the radio door has to be open though unless the installer is an ass.
