i just installed a sub/amp onto my car and everything seems to be working fine except when i go to play from my ipod. once i switch over to ipod, my sub turns off. anyone have any idea what is going on?

i have an alpine cda-105 head unit
kenwood amp and 10" kicker sub. i can get specifics if needed.

sub works fine when i'm on stereo and cd...just doesnt work at all when im playing thru my ipod

 

Are you using a aux (rca to aux) cable or ipod cable?

 

your amp remote turn on is hooked to the power antenna, not remote amp out....... i bet $100 thats it.

 

I thought the same thing initially, but he claims CD's play fine. Would appear to be some other issue, not with the remote line.

But, then, we don't know if the amp is actually turning off or it's just not getting a signal from the HU. That would be the first thing the OP needs to check out and report back about.
