I hope it does too. Please report back. Hopefully with a good review. I'm seriously considering installing the Kenwood as well.

The sub and amp is a budget set sold by Visonik, they offer a 10" and a 12" I bought the 10" on sale at PepBoys for $70 including tax.

Here's a description.. and some Crutchfield reviews:

Kenwood's KSC-SW1 subwoofer may be just what you need if you're looking for more bass, but don't have space for a conventional sub box or powered sub. This compact sub features an amplifier that pushes 75 watts RMS to a 6-1/2" woofer, with a 6-1/2" passive radiator built in for good measure. It's all housed in a rugged, low-profile enclosure that will fit just about anywhere.

The passive radiator technology is one of the keys to the surprisingly big sound of the KSC-SW1. Air pressure from the powered woofer moves the unpowered 6-1/2" radiator, augmenting the bass response.
powered, enclosed subwoofer with 6-1/2" driver and 6-1/2" passive radiator
built-in amplifier: 75 watts RMS
frequency response: 35-160 Hz

I've also been thinking about this setup; although i'd rather not mount it vertically behind the seat. Can someone confirm if it will fit under the seat?

The original post describes them as fitting "behind" the seats, not under. I suspect the unit may too long to fit under the seats.

This thing isn't going to fit under the seat...

"dimensions: 15-3/4"W x 3-3/4"H x 9"D" that's not going to fit behind the seats very well either.

Absolutely true. You will lose about 4" of leg room if mounted directly behind the seat. Under the seat is not an option, no clearance.

Behind the seat vertically was plan b. I made a mock up with the same dimensions to see how it would fit. Because the rear bulkhead slopes it would have to be mounted about 4 to 5 inches above the floor. I found that it would interfere with the rear speakers I had installed, but I thought I could rig something. It was on backorder through SoundDomain for $149.

I found a budget set a Pepboys for $70 enclosed 10" and amp and installed it. I found that I liked the sound. Speaker sits vertically facing forward in the trunk. The amp is mounted next to my primary amp next to the spare tire above the gas tank sender.

I kept it and cancelled the back order.

If someone has succeeded in mounting the Kenwood with minimal problems inside of the cabin, it would be great to know.
