Default Subwoofers

Just wondering what 12" subs are the best bang/lb. It's easy to say, for instance a W7, but the thing weighs like 50+/- lbs. Anyone want to chime in?

A good 10 is a better bet, as there are good 10s that can outpound what the car can produce.

Weight is not the issue you should be concerned with. If you are a track guy, get something easily removable.

I was just wondering . . . There are 20lb subs and there are 65lb subs. That 45 lb difference can make a differnce i nthe back of the car. Is a 10" really going to weigh that much less?

I'm glad someone brough up wieght for subs though....my personal opinion is that these huge baskets and magnet/motor structures you see on some popular products are just a lot of marketing BS than actual design/engineering necessity.

The best bang per pound!? AuraSound's NS-12. Why? Neo magnet. The whole thing weighs 17.6lbs and can hold it's own against any other SQ sub. These are also very good home audio subs due to their frequency range (light weight aluminum cone pushes cone breakup to 2k) and flat frequency response in part by their very low Le.

You did say performance per pound and not dollar!

As for something cheaper with great performance, TC-Sounds still has some of their 10" TC1000's left after the reorganization.
