Suggestions for amp for boston acoustics Pro 6 1/2
I need an amp for my boston acoustics Pro 6 1/2s that will give em enough power (125 to 200w rms) but wont break the bank. i only need a 2 channel cause im using an infinity powered sub. what is everyone else using or what do you suggest?
3 or 4 ohms would be my guess. Are they the pro 60's?
Something high end but used would probably be a good bet--you can probably get a great deal on an older amp. For a nice and new A/B, you can get a Sundown SAX-125.2 for about $200 if you look around. Is that about your price range?

Yeah $200 to $250. What about the boston acoustics GT amps? Are they any good? I mean, I would think that their amps would pair well with their speakers right? Could be totally wrong.
I have a Boston GT40 amp, which I'm quite happy with, though I personally
don't think there is any benefit to matching the amp manufacturer with the
speaker manufacturer. Define what your requirements are for an amp,
and then choose the amp that fits your needs. Some things to think about:
- where do you intend to mount it?
- size constraints?
- heat constraints?
- do you care what it looks like?
FWIW, I chose the GT40 because I was mounting above the gas tank, so
I wanted an amp that would fit, had its heat sink on the side(s) and had a
cooling fan.
