Default Swap entire dash from one car to another?

Well I have two s2000's and now thinking about possibily swapping the entire double din setup I have in my Rio s2000 into the Silverstone car.

It's a lot cheaper to move the dash than start from scratch I think but I have never attempted to remove the entire dash from the car before.

can anyone who has done this give me a crash course on what to watch out for, etc?

Any DIY w/ pics out there?

thanks,
rick

Sounds like a PITA and the possibility that things will never be as tight as before. Squeeks, rattles, etc.

You shouldnt have any problems Rick. Just be careful with the stupid steering column panels...the clips break REALLY easy. Be careful with the gauge cluster, but thats about it. The dash really isnt that big a deal to take out.

Look at you pimping two s2000s and an M3. Business must be good my man!

It can be done, just be careful. Just talk with someone who has done a complete interior swap.

Is there any online DIY for the dash removal like where to find the bolts, etc?

Actually just the opposite - I'm hoping when I yank the dashes apart I will reinforce weak areas and apply dynamat to parts of the car that normally are unreachable

I've always wanted to do some custom fiberglass / dash work and now's my chance. I think my garage is going to be REALLY MESSY though for a while with two s2k's stripped apart...haha

I got a digital copy of the Honda Helms manual. Its 10MB, though, so I cannot email it. PM me your email, and I will cut out the pages specific to your questions and email them to you.

Just be careful when dropping the steering column. I believe there was a user on here (RevIllusions i think is his handle). He sold his dash setup a few months back (or maybe it was a year..). Anyway, if you can get ahold of him, he could probably offer you some pointers.

removeing the dash isnt hard at all it took me about 45 mins to do so...that was doing it very carefully...i would say theres about 6 scews holding the dash once you remove the cluster...two under the cluster and two under the radio and two on the side...just remove the radio and radio cover and cluster you do not have to remove the ac and radion control panel just unplug the wires..oww ps it is much easyies if you remove the steering wheel...
