AVi,
Pretty soon I'll have an in dash Pioneer HU to sell. It's nothing fancy but it's pretty nice. Model # DEH P3300. $50.00 plus shipping?

well I just read the entire thread, and now I realize that Avi, you probably won't be interested in a measly DEH PP-3300, but I am selling it soon and will take offers if anyone needs a cost effective (cheap) HU.

I just saw this topic- I have an Alpine 7977 HU which I put in a year or so ago. I liked the XM ready part as well as the 4V out but only last weekend installed the TUA2020. I put it in my spare tire area next my amp. I used the Blitsafe micro antenna mounted with double sided tape to the leading edge of the dash where it meets the windshield. I also hooked up the adapter to go from single wire to the Alpine two lead input. The sound and reception are great and I haven't experienced any dropouts anywhere yet. I even get a signal in my garage with the hardtop on. I got the tuner from Crutchfield- they had 38 or so and I think they sold out pretty quickly. The hardest part was stuffing everything back into the dash. It was important (to me) to have a have an integrated XM- no wires or devices showing, and the antenna is only 1 3/4" x 1 3/4"x 1/2".

Willie, actually, I am interested in your HU. Although you're right that I'd prefer a higher-end unit, I'm on a very tight budget right now, so as I said above, I've been planning to put in a HU later, and just use the XM unit by itself for now, even though I dislike external controls.

But your unit seems perfectly servicable, better than the stock unit, a good deal, and will allow me to have the XM controls integrated.

So if your HU is in good shape, and you've got the original packaging and accessories, etc, then I'm definitely interested. If you also have the S2K wiring harness all wired up and ready to install, even better!

You've got PM!

ob, that antenna sounds perfect, I want to put an antenna in the same location too. Where did you buy it? I don't see it on Crutchfield's website.

Thanks!
Avi

I got it here- http://store.myradiostore.com/blxmmianxm.html
Unobtrusive and I like that it works great w/o being outside the car.

Make sure you get a compatible tuner with that antenna though, because it only uses one wire for the connection, while some tuners require the two wire version.

Chad, they have an adapter available for an extra $25 that lets it work with two-wire receivers. It's $30 if purchased seperately.
