I am thinking about upgrading the sound in my S. I would like to know how much sounds comes in from the trunk since it looks like our trucks are sealed. Also i would like to know what boxes you guys are running , where you got them from and how much they cost. Any pics would help. Thank you in advance for you help.

This is the first time I've done a significant sound system upgrade. I put in a JL Audio Stealthbox in the trunk well and JL Audio amp over the spare tire. I'm completely pleased with it.

My other upgrades include an Alpine 27 watts rms (60 watts peak) x 4 head, upgraded door speakers, and modest Lucid rear speakers. I'm pleased but for clean sound to compete with top down noise at 70 mph you really need an amp for those cabin speakers. The 60 watts x 4 head comes close but doesn't quite get the job done.

 

Diamond Audio Components, JVC MP3/WMA deck, Boston 10" Pro, Single Voice Coil (4 ohms) and a bazooka (flame suit on) amp at about 1300w peak. Got a memphis amp to run the components which should be going in soon too (75x2)

Love it. No complaints, except that the amp doesnt put a clean signal to the sub. Still enough to pound on the highway at 75+ with the top down though, (just distorts if I turn it up past about 35-40 out of 50 on volume) so untill I get more money, it works for me.
