Default NEED ADVICE? SOUND SYSTEM SETUP!?

So i needed advice from my fellow s2ki members. I was thinking of getting a Pioneer DEH-P6200BT, Focal Speakers? and JL AMP? But i needed advice on how and what i should get? I'm not trying to spend too much money willing to spend 600 for the amp and speakers? and another hundred or 2 on a head unit? Focal K2 are good but are 600 dollars, out of my price range? Can anyone help? What kind of set up do you guys have as in HU, Speakers, amp? Best quality and performance for not so expensive price?

Get an Alpine/Pioneer head unit for $100-150, some quality components ($100-150, go for Alpine, Focal, CDT, Infinity etc), and grab a 4 channel amp for $100-150. Get a sub and sub box too, it makes a HUGE difference. Having bass really adds a ton of sound quality.

Having all around better sound quality is even better.

Loud =/= SQ. And while a sub does improve sound quality, it's not worth sacrificing the other components over.

I'd post my recommendations for speakers/amps, but they're all over this particular forum (or they used to be) and are rarely, if ever, listened to. So I'm not going to waste my time repeating myself (again and again).

OP: Good luck

^+1 Do a good job on your HU, speakers, and amp then if you want more bass look into subs.

Not to mention a sub in our cars makes for a great sounding trunk rattle...

The new Infinity Class D amps are absolutely amazing. Small, powerful, clean and fairly cheap. In your case I would go with the Infinity Kappa Four. You can use the 2 extra channels to bridge into the speakers or save them later for a sub. That amp is a great choice and this is coming from someone who is traditionally not an Infinity fan. Good luck.

As far as speakers go, in this car I am a big fan of Boston Acoustics. Mainly because they are power monsters. In this car with all the road noise the most acute sound is not important. What is important is a speaker that sounds solid at moderate to high volumes. The Boston Pro's in my car sound awesome.
