TOO MUCH POWER!
Amp power is a numbers game. no two manufactures use the same formulas.
If the system is setup properly (gains, etc) then use your ears. if the sound gets distorted or fuzzy, turn down the volume. It's usually distortion that hurts speakers not power. Think of it like your engine, runs great until redline. our cars have a rev limiter, your amp does not. distortion = redline...past that is when damage occurs
