Treo 650 Install... love it!
If you have a Treo 650 and want to listen to MP3s and get your phone calls thru car speakers, this is a little something that I put together.
I have an MY04 (using a stock head unit) and ordered the HON03/PC-SON 2003-06 Honda Changer Interface/Auxiliary Adapter to listen to music on my Treo650 for about $99.
I had some stereo headphones for my treo that I got from ebay for about $15.
I ordered a stereo RCA to 2.5mm cable, but i mistakenly got a mono plug . Since I desperately wanted to listen to MP3s from my phone (i have a gig mem card that holds about 175 songs), i cut my headphone to use the 2.5mm stereo jack. In doing so, i left the mic part and spliced it into the RCA cable.
Now, I can listen to MP3s from my Treo and when a phone call comes in, it automatically puts the song on mute to tell me a call is coming in. When i press 'answer', i can hear the person from my car speakers and use the mic to talk
It sounds great and the music is crystal clear. If you need some help, let me know as the wire from the headphones are a little tricky to sauder.
I love the setup!

I would change it out the next chance you get. Splicing into RCA's is generally not a good itea. You can buy the 2.5mm -->RCA conversion at Circuity City or Bets Buy. People use that interface to adapt Satellite radio receivers to their home stereos. I think its like $15 (bought one a month or two ago to install my Grandfather's Sirius portable tuner to his surround sound system in his house).

True. You could also upgrade to a Bluetooth capable HU. I think there are a few out there, but they are big $.
I wonder if you could use a 2.5mm splitter, run one end to your microphone, and the other to the 2.5mm--->RCA converter. Wonder if the splitter will allow input and output as the same time.....hmmmm.
I might have to try this....but my setup would be
Microphone ---> 2.5mm Splitter
2.5mm splitter ---> phone
2.5mm/RCA converter ---> 2.5mm splitter
2.5mm/RCA converter ---> RCA/Ai-Net converter
RCA/Ai-Net converter ---> Alpine HU.
Does anyone see any reason why this will not work? The wiring should not cost more than $50 for everything.....I wonder if it would play thought the stereo in AUX mode....here is a pic of the splitter....they are like $2.
