I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, I have no idea if this is a body issue or electronic issue. So move me if you must.

But I noticed when I press the trunk button on my keyless entry controller it unlocks and pops up about a centimeter and then I would have to manually open it all the way. Is that the way it was designed? Or is there a motor or spring that needs to be changed?

I noticed on my friends Si it opens up all the way automatically. And he has an oem trunk spoiler as do I.

I'm not lazy but it's rather convenient when I'm holding something heavy that I need to get into the trunk,

 

did you install the trunk spoiler? i installed the oem trunk lip on my S and it does the same thing because i didnt install the trunk springs that came with it. no big deal for me though its nothing to be worried about man

 

^^That, if you get an OEM spoiler you should have gotten the new hardware that goes with it as well. Before I put my spoiler on though, I noticed that the trunk would pop up and raise only about half way, not all the way.
