Default Unknown plug....?

Hi everyone can anyone identify what the plug in the picture is for? I pulled out my HU to see if it had a modifry adaptor or other for dash controls. Seems to be other and found a harness that wasn't plugged in anywhere.

Also if I install a new Alpine HU would I just need to plug and play since this already has everything hooked up to the dash? The only thing that doesn't work is the mute button.

Current wiring:

Idk whats in the doors. Bought the car like this. Its prewired for an amp. From what I can tell without taking the doors off, they are silver colored speakers. Idk if thats stock or aftermarket.

I believe that unused white connector is for the optional OEM trunk-mounted CD changer and/or satellite radio tuner.
I don't see anything in your picture that resembles a Modifry, or any other DCI, though it looks like there are
wires heading off into the dash from the adapter harness that are consistent with the colors for a Modifry DCI,
so perhaps it is just out of view. Modifry makes a few different models of DCI for different headunit brands.
If you stick with the same brand of headunit you have now, it's likely everything will be plug & play.
See Modifry's site. Here's a picture of the DCI with Modifry's plug&play Alpine harness:
