Upgrade door speakers
Please gimme your thoughts...
Basically what I want to do is upgrade the door speakers to a mid level speaker that can handle up to 50 watts rms, and hook it up to my 2 channel amp that puts out 50watts rms at 4ohms.
with this setup, will i be able to hear decent music with the top down cruising freeway speed? better than stock, relatively clear music
not looking for bass by any means, just better sounding clearer music

They're a direct drop-in fit and have decent bass response (43 Hz) and good sensitivity (92 dB) and a good price ($200).
My only complaint would be that they are a bit bright. I have the treble control on my Alpine 9856 at -4 (bass at 0) to compensate. I'm running the speakers off the head unit power - no amp.

I also have the Polks and they are bright. Mine have deck power only and will sound much better when I hook up the amplifier. I listen to talk radio and think they are about 75% there. I am slightly deaf so I think you will be pleased. The hardest part of the install was locating the tweeters. I made the brackets that hook into the door handles and they seem to work pretty well. In addition, the Polks are on sale at Crutchfield for about $180 delivered to SoCal.
