Default Used Car w/ minor probs

Just bought my S2k and am trying to fix the few problems. Really just annoyances but hopefully someone already has experience in dealing with these problems.

First the light for my Channel button doesn't work, annoys the hell out of me at night.
Is there a light behind the panel out? Or is it an LED in the button? I am guessing the latter and need to buy a new button.

Second is the power outlet/cigarette lighter is loose and pops out easily. I noticed it is threaded at the bottom and assume it threads into something. A) What does it thread into, and B) What do I need to take off in order to access that area under the glove box?

The last thing is just how I want my alarm system setup. I need to know where the alarm unit is located because I want to turn up the microphone sensitivity and also want to turn on the Auto Lock function.

Thanks for any help or advice!

1. not sure about the light behind the channel button.

2. in the FAQ there are several links to tear down guides for various panels. to get behind the center console, you'll have to pull the center armrest, i believe you'll have to pull the rear panels behind the seats ("Lucid's panel" as it was often referred to), and most of the screws you need to access in order to get the center console out should then be obvious. (there's also one in the middle of the glove compartment)

this is all just as i'm recalling off the top of my head. i haven't been up in there in at least a year. i know i went into there w/ some basic tools, patience, and the guides on this site and didn't have problems. ymmv

3. what kind of alarm do you have? hard to help you w/o any info.

It is the OEM alarm.
I found out that you can adjust the sensitivity of the alarm and turn on an auto-lock function.
The auto-lock locks the doors and arms the alarm once the key has been removed from the ignition and the last door has been closed. It has a 20sec delay on it.

I seem to be running into some discrepancies on the forum with regards to the autolocking feature of the OEM alarm. Some believe that it only locks/arms your car if you unlock your car without opening the doors, then it would relock it. However, from reading your post, if I understand it correctly, the OEM alarm locks/arms the car after you exit the car, close the door and just walk away from the car without locking? Can you confirm this is what happens?
