Wiring problem?
help!
my maintenance light had been flashing for the past week, but turns off after i drive for a bit.
so i didnt think it was a major issue since i did take my car into service the week before.
today, my maintenance light stays on and all of a sudden my alarm goes of while i'm driving o_o.
my alarm's been quite bipolar this past year. its a very old clifford alarm, discontinued.
sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, but im still able to lock the car through the remote.
its obviously some wiring issues.. has someone encountered this problem before?
where should i look? and what should i do?

Hello there,
I think the two issues are unrelated. The maintenance light can be reset/ turned off by doing the following: ( for an ap1)
press and hold the "trip Button" while turning the key to the "ON" position. ( you won't be able to move the key any more forward) Keep holding the "trip button" until it shuts off. Then turn the key to the off position. Then turn it to the "ON" position again to make sure its off.
There is other forum posts in here with more detail on how to reset the light. Just need to search "maintenance required light reset"
note the light will eventually stay on once you;ve reached "X" km/miles passed the required maintenance interval. This light will come back on again, and i think its every 7000miles or something?
As for the alarm, i would check for bad grounding or brakes in the wires if it only works sometimes. Or it could be that your remote's battery is low.
i hope this helps,
-Jorden
