Bomberman and Ruex.....please take this as absolutely no offense.....

As I think you two contribute a great deal to this forum...

I wouldnt buy anything except for cheap stuff like carpet from sounddomain and crutchfield.....

They sell retail, and well...retail is for suckas.......

The best sites that I recommend highly (having great service, amazing prices, and fast delivery, along with BRAND NEW products)

www.thezeb.com Great people, rediculous prices.....***** (five stars)
www.onlinecarstereo.com Great prices, never an issue *****
www.ikesound.com Great prices, great shipping, not a lot of stuff...
if they have what you want then *****

www.etronics.com Pretty much as low as prices will go....great people (met them personally, great service, all products are brand new.

All the above sites sell brand new never opened products, and DO NOT SCAM IN ANY WAY.

Please dont post a stupid remark on how you lose warranty, stolen goods, wrong items, etc.....

Thanks guys........

www.etronics.com is the best! And don't forget to try ebay once you've found what you want! I picked up JBL 608GTI's for $300 and they retail for $700. Use nexttag.com or something similar to find different web site prices.

i'm not going to post a stupid comment about losing warranty. i'm going to post a fact about losing warranty.

i bought my Focal speakers from onlinecarstereo.com, and they were clearly gray market speakers. The serial numbers were removed, and I knew Focal would laugh at me if I even tried to get warranty service. But I saved $200 by buying them from onlinecarstereo, so it didn't bother me that much. And they haven't broken so it's all good.

A much better strategy then buying from a place like etronics is to pricematch to etronics! I'll give you an example I used, etronics is not an authorized online dealer for Kicker (maybe they are in person, but they are not on the online list of dealers). However sounddomain is an authorized dealer. I bought my Kicker amp from sounddomain and had them pricematch etronics, they had no problems doing it and I got a great amp at a great price with a warranty.

Another strategy (done successfully) is to build a relationship with you local dealer, and then honestly ask them to sell below MSRP. Maybe they won't sell it for the rock-bottom price you find online, but many times they'll get within 10%. You also end up with a local resource if anything goes wrong.

But losing warranties are for real, how often do consumer electronics break in this day and age? Not often, so it's not that big of a risk, but don't go telling people they will keep the warranty no matter who they buy from. When you buy from an 'unauthorized' dealer you give up all warranty rights and it becomes the sole discretion (and mercy) of the manufacturer on whether to warranty anything for you.

Some people prefer not to take that risk, and i totally understand that. I'm somewhere in the middle, sometimes I prefer to pay a little extra for the warranty, and other times I'm like you: I like saving the money

I especially like thezeb.com because they clearly state if something comes with a warranty from the maker because their authorized. If they aren't authorized many times thezeb will warranty the item themselves for the same length of time.

I will agree you "lose" your warranty per se....
But you will not be denied a claim 9 out of 10 times.....

When I had a problem with my sony, I called them, sent them the unit, and they refurbished it for me under warranty. They did not ask me when/where I got them.....the box I got from online car stereo was the same exact box I would have gotten at Circuit City. Now maybee certain companies like Focal....who have serial numbers on EVERYTHING, maybee that would apply, but 9 times out of 10, your claim will NOT be denied. I did the same thing with my MBQUART Q series when they blew. Clearly a manufacturer defect....they replaced the woofer for me no questions asked.

The strategy to "establish a relationship" im sorry to say is kinda out of reach for most of us. Unless you buy 15 grand worth of stuff from a dealer....you will never get a discount. Do you really believe that because they know your first name and you bought a set of Focals from a dealer, they will "hook you up" when you buy something else.....99% a big HEEELLLLLL NO.

I live in NYC......i pretty much deal with this crap all the time....most authorized dealers have to sell near retail or retail....so getting a good deal is really hard.
Buying online is just fine with me. I have been doing it for YEARS and never had I had a problem. All my electronics, computer parts, auto parts come from online and I have never been screwed or denied warranty.

Oh....and good luck finding a trustworthy dealer...(*on the east coast anyway)...ive stated before.....apparently all the dealers in my area (NY/NJ) can get everything made by everyone....wow....they are quite the authorized dealers right?

By the way.....I have bought a Pioneer Multimedia screen for my old car from CANAL street.....for those of you non-new yorkers....that is the chinatown....everything off the truck, stolen probably cheap stuff. I bought it for 700 brand new. It retailed for like 1400 at the time. The piece was BRAND NEW! After like 6 months, the motor broke and a friend of mine bent the rail by accident. I called PIONEER and file a claim to get it fixed. They asked me where I got it and I said it was a gift. They repaired my unit although it had NO WARRANTY....So not everything is written in stone.

1. No offence taken. I really like crutchfield for research. They have quite an extensive online catelog with tons of info. Their customer service is impecable, and I cannot say anything negative except that they are a little pricy.

2. I was a long time customer of etronics. I bought many, many items from them over the course of a year. I bought a Sony RF CD changer for my truck, and could not get the RF modulator to work correctly. I had a TON of static and station bleed through. I returned it for an exchange. The returned unit had the same issues. I asked to return for refund. They said sure, however once they recieved it they exchanged it again. When I called to complain they said that the box was too beat up to take back. I told them that the box was exactly the same as was sent to me. (They did not pack the sony box in another box, just stuck a shipping label on it, OVER another label.) They said I should have claimed a problem when I recieved it initially. Bottom line is that I had to hassle with them for over two months and they NEVER did refund my money. I had the Better Business Bureau involved and everything. They had some good prices, but their customer service was pathetic. I will never buy from them again.

Another online seller is eCost.com, their return policy is: We don't take returns. Be sure to check out any online store for it's reviews and it's return policy. I would hate to have someone here have a problem with an eTailer.

I agree, I do use crutchfield for research. However, I guess everyone has a bad experience with everyone.

THEZEB.com I highly recommend. Ive always had great service from them and have NO problem recommending them to anyone. Let us know what you decide....post pics when done!!!
